Portable Solar Powered Battery Backup

Image
I decided to build a battery box that is powered by solar I can use for emerergency power backup and camping or whatever else where it's useful. This stemmed from some foldable solar panels I got for a very good deal, I wanted to put them to work. MATERIALS Battery box 12.8 V 100AH LFP batteries x2 Husky rolling connect 3 piece toolbox 24V to 12V 30A buck converter 12V car socket 12v to 5v PD charging adapter 20A DC circuit Breaker 6A 2 pole DC circuit Breaker 150A battery cutoff/disconnect 2 awg wire 10 awg wire 12 awg wire Inverter box 2000W Pure Sine Inverter 40 or 60A MPPT solar charge controller 100A shunt 50A 2 pole DC circuit breaker (for solar input) 125A DC circuit breaker (main power cutoff 60A DC circuit breaker (cutoff for BV to MPPT) 20A 2 pole AC circuit breaker (ac power out to load) DC distribution busses 24v thermostat relay 24v 8025 fan Weather rated nema 5-15 surface mount plugs Solar connectors 125A Anderson PowerPole connectors 10-30v led lights Stainless steel...

Batch Mixing PLC System

Purpose Due to a noticeable waste of product and a need to make the filling into a 1 operator job instead of 3, I pitched the idea to build a  Constraints Budget: $1000.00 Time Frame: 3 months Materials 2 large boxes C0-00DD1-D Koyo CLICK PLC C0-00AC Power Supply PSB24-060-P 24V Rhino Power supply 10 x 24V indicator lights Red, Green, Beep, light tower. 14 AWG THHN Stranded Wire White, blue stripe White Blue Red Black Green, yellow stripe Grounded conduit & connectors Terminal Blocks 2 x 80mm fans 2 x 24V thermostats 10 x DC/AC Relays Analysis Due to a very limited budget I had to make many sacrifices to keep cost low rather than industry standard. Additionally I had to take over the project from someone who already ordered some parts which came from the budget so I had to go with those parts as much as possible. Once the system was completed and debugged, the owner was very impressed at how well it performed and allocated more funds to be able to expand the system. The ne...

Raspberry Pi as VPN Server

Image
Purpose The goal of this project is to build a VPN using a Raspberry Pi 3+ as the VPN server to securely and remotely establish a tunnel to access a device on the other network. Specifically to access Octopi (3d printer controller which can only be accessed locally) and control temperatures, move axes, and watch a live video feed of the nozzle or tool. Materials All materials were items I already owned or was given. I had purchased most of the following on amazon or ebay at some point in the years leading up to this. Links to parts I have purchased are below. ·        2x Raspberry Pi 3 (B +) ·        2x >= 8gb micro SD cards for raspberry pi ·        1m Endoscope camera ·        HDMI capable monitor ·        Ethernet Cable ·        USB A to USB mini (or compatible to printer...
